Colby College's Friends of Art will sponsor a bus trip to Boston on Tuesday, Oct. 20, for a tour of the Museum of Fine Arts' exhibit Monet in the 20th Century. Some of the Monet canvases are so large they rarely travel from their home museums and most have never been shown before in Boston. There also will be a docent-led tour of the oriental rug exhibition, Ambassadors from the East.
The cost of the trip is $42.50 per person and includes transportation, admission to the museum and both tours. Reservations may be made by calling Alice Fitzgerald at the Colby College Museum of Art at 872-3228. Checks payable to Colby College must be received by October 13.
The bus to Boston will leave at 7 a.m. from the Roberts Union parking lot at Colby and will stop to pick up passengers at the Sears parking lot in Augusta. Free time at the Museum of Fine Arts for lunch and viewing is scheduled, as is time for shopping and dinner at Copley Place before the bus returns to Maine. The estimated time of return to Colby is 9:45 p.m.
