
Colby Wellness Lectures Open to Public
At Colby College, a series of wellness lectures this fall will address topics of mental, emotional, social and physical well being. Lectures are open to the public and are free of charge. Programs will discuss prevention of sexual assaults, health risks and choices, and relationship and communication skills. All of the programs will be held in the Page Commons Room in Cotter Union. "He Said, She Said" with Katie Koestner and Brett Sokolow
Program on rape awareness and education
Wed., Sept. 15, at 8 p.m.
"Deadly Persuasion: Advertising and Addiction"
Dr. Jean Kilbourne, media critic, lecturer and writer
reveals the cumulative impact of advertising on attitudes and society.
Tues., Sept. 28, at 8 p.m.
"Success by Choice" with Marlon Smith: "The 'High-Tech' Motivator"
International consultant presents inspirational one-man media show.x
Wed., Oct. 20, at 8 p.m.
"OUI: A Powerful Lesson" with Mark Sterner
Shows how a single bad decision can alter the course of one's life.
Tues., Nov. 16, at 8 p.m.
"Power of HIV Positive Thinking" Michael DeStafano
HIV-positive writer and stand-up comic focuses on the issue of overcoming challenges.
