
Top Newspaper Editors at Colby College November 12
On Friday, November 12, leading newspaper editors from around the nation will discuss "The Fourth Estate In The Third Millennium: Politics and the Future of the News Media" in a panel discussion open to the public at Colby College in Waterville. The 1:15 p.m. event will be in the Robbins Room of Roberts building and is free of charge. Refreshments will be provided.
The panelist are members of the Lovejoy selection committee: William Hilliard, former executive editor of The Oregonian; Ann Marie Lipinski, managing editor of the Chicago Tribune, Rena Pederson, editorial page editor of the Dallas Morning News; and Matthew V. Storin, editor of The Boston Globe.
At 8 p.m. William Raspberry, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist syndicated with The Washington Post Writers Group, will receive the 47th Lovejoy award for journalism at a formal convocation in Lorimer Chapel. The convocation is open to the public.
