At 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, in Lorimer Chapel the Colby Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Eric Thomas, will perform its first concert of the season, "The Hot and the Cool." Part of the 1999-2000 Music at Colby Concert Series, the performance is open to the public free of charge.

Among the jazz tunes performed will be Caravan by Duke Ellington, I Got Rhythm by Gershwin, and works by Jelly Roll Morton, Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II, Victor Lopez and others.
