The Colby College organization Student Health on Campus (SHOC) is holding an AIDS Benefit Ball on Saturday, December 4, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Page Commons, Cotter Union. The Waiters, a blues-rock band from Portland, will perform. Admissions is $5 and advance tickets are on sale in Cotter Union December 1-3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets also will be available at the door and donations are accepted. All proceeds from the dance will go to Dayspring, a local AIDS support service. The semi-formal dance is open to everyone in the Colby and Waterville communities. SHOC hopes to make the benefit ball an annual event to promote AIDS awareness. Wednesday, December 1, was World AIDS Day.
