Colby and the Economy

In this 12-minute Q&A, President William D. Adams provides a year-end update on Colby and the financial crisis and outlines steps the College leadership is taking to address the current situation and prepare for the future. The bottom line: Colby, while not immune to economic forces, is coping, even as the endowment has declined. College leaders are confident that Colby can fulfill its core mission and remain committed to financial aid policies, including giving grants instead of assigning loans in financial aid packages. "We are trying to be as open and as clear as we can about what is happening and what we're thinking," Adams said. Click here to read a transcript.
