Colby's Amnesty International chapter won third place in the organization's Human Rights Ambassador Challenge for  actions it took to promote human rights and inspire others in 2011.

The group will receive a $1,000 grant that can be used for travel to Amnesty International's annual general meeting March 30-April 1 in Denver, Colo., where Colby's club will be honored. The money can also be applied to future Amnesty events.

Since its founding in 1961, Amnesty International has become a global movement of more than 3 million people who have proven that the collective force of individual actions can change the world.
