Event Description:
Social Accountability International (SAI), a New York based not-for-profit organization. In 1997, SAI published one of the first independent workplace human rights standards. Over the past seven years, Martin's major responsibilities at SAI include: research for standard development and guidance document revision, developing and delivering training programs to both workers and managers in Chinese factories to help them build permanent channel for meaningful social dialogue.



Martin also represents Solidaridad in China. Solidaridad is a Netherlands based foundation dedicated to helping poor small holder farmers worldwide to gain direct and fair market access. Solidaridad is a founding member of the worldwide Fairtrade movement. Solidaridad is in the process of building a sustainable fashion chain in China highlighting organic cotton, responsible farming and manufacturing.



Martin holds a B.A., Beijing University, China, and a M.A. degree of communications, University of Pennsylvania.
