2009 Homecoming Weekend State-of-the-College Address

Each fall during Family Homecoming Weekend, President Adams discusses the state of the College in a talk with visiting parents and alumni. On Sep. 26, 2009, he discussed, among other topics, the improving financial picture, the class of 2013, campus life initiatives, and anticipating the final year of the Reaching the World campaign. 2009 State of the College

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, President Adams addressed students in a State of the College Address. His remarks followed a welcome by Student Government Association president and vice president Jake Fischer '10 and Katie Unsworth '10. Following a question-and-answer period, Vice President for Student Affairs Jim Terhune discussed the work and conclusions of the Campus Culture Working Group. (30:22)

Reunion 2009 State of the College Address

On Saturday, June 6, President Adams presented his State of the College address to alumni. He talked about the many challenges and successes of the past year then took questions during a 25-minute Q-and-A session. (57:25)

Campus Forum Regarding April 12

President William D. Adams held a forum for students Wednesday, April 15, 2009, to discuss the events that took place on campus Sunday, April 12. Several hundred students attended the question-and-answer session, which lasted more than three hours. Adams was joined by Richard Ammons, vice president for College Relations, Jim Terhune, vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students, and Doug Terp, vice president for Administration.

Colby and the Economy

Colby is facing difficult decisions regarding priorities and spending as it deals with the financial crisis. Still, its commitments to the educational program, financial aid, and the people of the institution remain, said President William D. Adams in a year-end video recorded on December 12. (11:55)
