I write today with a brief update on the H1N1 influenza situation.
First, and most importantly, there are presently no reported or confirmed cases of H1N1 influenza at Colby. We continue to monitor the situation closely.
The preventative measures put in place last week—greater frequency of bathroom cleanings and increased availability of alcohol-based hand sanitizer in dining halls and other public areas throughout the College—will continue. If you have not already done so, I would encourage you to read the CDC’s guidelines for reducing your chances of contracting the flu.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is no longer holding formal meetings, though its members communicate regularly and are prepared to resume daily meetings should that be necessary.
I will continue to keep you updated as this situation evolves.
