Projects for Peace

Four Colby students sponsored two proposals that were awarded $10,000 each by this year's Davis Projects for Peace program. Qiamuddin Amiry '09 and John Campbell '09 will work on a scholarship program to bring Afghanistani students to private U.S. high schools. Nancy McDermott '08 and Emily Goodnow '09 will work with girls in Bamako, Mali, to promote gender equality and to empower them as women. The program, in its second year, supports young people's ideas for building peace throughout the world, funding 100 projects each year.
