All assignments are due at the beginning of class unless otherwise noted.
Read In The Heart of America at least twice.
(To do this, you will need to borrow a copy of the play from the Reserve
Desk in Miller Library.)
Find all of the props listed in
the stage directions (E.g. “KAT
enters with a gun in her hand”), called for in the dialogue (e.g. “Is
that a real gun?”), or clearly implied (e.g. “SHE stabs KAT”
– which would mean we need something to stab with (without killing the
actress), and might also mean we need to come up with a special effect like
a blood pack). Note the page number where you found the reference.
Print out one or more Prop Plot Forms and
create a preliminary Prop Plot for In The Heart of America using all
of your information. Only fill in the 2nd and 3rd columns on this form. Your
assignment should look something like this.
Print out this Safety “Scavenger Hunt” and complete it as per the instructions.
