Follow these steps:
-
Draw a two-inch horizontal line on the left side of the paper. This is line A.
-
Draw a half-inch perpendicular line straight up from the right end of line A.
-
At the top of this line, draw a perpendicular line, moving farther right.
-
Draw a half-inch perpendicular line straight up from the right end of this line.
- At the top of this line, draw a two and a half-inch perpendicular line towards the left end of line A.
- From this point, draw a half-inch perpendicular line down towards line A.
- Draw a one and a half-inch perpendicular line towards the left end of line A.
-
Draw a half-inch perpendicular line to connect to the left end of line A.
Protocol:
"End" refers to the end point of a line.
"Draw a line" means draw a straight line.
Lab Write-up

- The protocol was relatively basic. There were a few terms that are mathematical and could be confusing. At first, I did not specify that "end" meant end point, and allowed for too much ambiguity. The directions were clear and straight forward.
- I gave parameters for all of the commands.
- I gave parameters for distance, direction or angle, and position on paper.
- Hannah's protocol was pretty clear. Although she used a lot of mathematical terms that were kind of hard for me to remember, Dan's protocol did not describe how to draw "eyes." Hannah's commands were very simple and straight forward. Dan's were straight forward, but not as simple.
- The first time was less clear- I did not specify to draw a straight line or end point. The second time was easier for the artist.
- There was not much information in the protocol. The directions were pretty simple. I did not have any complex commands.
