VIDEO DISPLAY TUBE (VDT) AND

WORKSTATION ERGONOMICS

SESSIONS OFFERED

A human body in motion functions best. All of us have felt the stiffness and discomfort associated with eight hour car rides or marathon sessions at the keyboard. Some have even felt the symptoms of carpal tunnel or tenosynovitis. The State of Maine has recognized the potential for injury of static postures by enacting VDT (video display tube) safety regulations which require companies to provide training for any employee who spends more than four hours per day at a VDT, exclusive of breaks.

The Safety Department has developed an effective program of stretch-breaks, workstation assessment procedures, and symptom awareness training to give Colby employees the tools to stay injury free. We will be offering one-hour training sessions in the Robins Room in Roberts on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, February 4, at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, February 5, at 2:00 p.m.

Thursday, February 6, at 9:00 a.m.

Call Bruce McDougal at extension 3179 to reserve your seat or if you have any questions.
