The campus, which was shaped from meadows and fields, today presents an image of being a clearing in the Maine woods. Woodlands of varying age, density, and character frame locations for campus development. Runnals Hill and the athletic fields recall the open agrarian character of the past, while the historic neo-Georgian buildings and lawn terraces define the campus core. In this drawing, buildings have been color coded to suggest how campus development has responded to the landscape |
