Lauren McClurg Lab Manager
Senior Project Researcher Lauren is studying the behavioral and neural outcomes of chronic, mild, and unpredictable stress in middle-aged female rats.
Hanna Schenk Research Assistant
Senior Project Researcher Hanna is comparing the benefits of enrichment in adolescence or adulthood on spatial learning and the survival of new neurons in the adult hippocampus of male rats.
Olivia Bordiuk Research Assistant Senior Project Researcher Olivia is examining the ways in which gestational stress impacts anxiety and memory in the mothers and her offspring. She will also investigate the neural mechanisms of those effects.
Megan Smith Senior Project Researcher Megan graduated in January 2009. For her senior project she employed a lesion approach to study the neural circuitry of apomorphine-induced tic behavior in male rats.
Zoe Ray Senior Project Researcher Zoe graduated in January 2009. For her senior project she characterized the interaction between chronic mild stress and adolescent choline availability on volume of hippocampal subfields and amygdala nuclei.
Sara Cameron Research Assistant Sara is working on a project looking at the effects of adult choline supplementation and deficiency on radial arm maze performance in male and female rats.
Kelly Brooks Research Assistant
SOMAS Awardee Kelly is investigating how the availability of choline during adolescence mediates the behavioral, neural, and physiologial responses of male and female rats to chronic mild stress.
Jennifer Corriveau Research Assistant Jenn will start a new project in 2009 to develop a rat model for schizophrenia. She will then use her established methods to study whether dietary choline is protective in this disorder.
Duy Lyford Research Assistant Duy is studying the behavioral and neural effects of chronic mild stress on male and female rats identified in infancy as neophobic or neophilic. He has also developed a Golgi stain in the lab that he is using in his study.
Darshini Mahadevia Research Assistant Darshini recently joined the lab and has been helping with various projects. She recently completed a study on oxytocin and spatial learning in male rats as part of the collaborative research course on Neural Plasticity and Behavior.
