ITS Media Services
and Colby Library Policies: Videos/DVD’s for Classroom Use
ITS Media Services and the Colby Libraries are pleased to work together to provide video resources to assist faculty’s classroom instruction. Librarians are available to assist faculty in identifying video material and procuring items for addition to the Colby media collection. Media Services staff train faculty in the use of classroom technology and are available for technical assistance.
Beginning in February 2005
Faculty retrieve video
material either from the Colby Collections, request a loan from Bates or
Bowdoin through
Faculty are responsible for their own classroom projection.

Reserve
Faculty are urged to place media on Reserve in advance of the show date in order to be assured the material will be available for presentation. The Faculty member is responsible for the return of the video to the Reserves Desk after showing.
·

Faculty can instead sign media out under their own borrower’s card for showing, and are encouraged to do so in advance of the show date. The Faculty member is responsible for the return of the video to the Library after showing.
Videos that are in circulation are subject to immediate
recall for classroom use. Library staff
will make every attempt to retrieve circulating items, but cannot be held responsible if an item is not returned on time.
