Sheila McCarthy

Sheila McCarthy has a B.A. in Russian from Emmanuel College, an M.A. from Harvard University in Russian Area Studies, and a Ph. D. from Cornell University in Russian Literature. She has taught previously at Antioch College and Grinnell College. She has special curricular interests in developing students' reading and writing skills in Russian in elementary and intermediate classes, and in encouraging off-campus study in Russia She teaches nineteenth century Russian literature in Russian and in English. Early nineteenth century literary criticism is a particular interest.
