|Admissions Management Intern |
|Department:   Admissions - Financial Aid
The Admissions Management Intern is an important part of the Colby College Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. The intern will work closely with one or more admissions and financial aid counselor supervisors and will assist with a wide range of office assistance. Interns may assist by scheduling visits to high schools and by helping with travel preparation, contacting prospective students whom the counselors met at high school visits and at college fairs, writing and e-mailing students after the counselors interview them, communicating with college guidance professionals, supporting the counselors with their office responsibilities. This will be an internship experience through which the intern will learn many aspects of admissions and financial aid.
The Admissions Management Intern must be a currently enrolled student the entire duration of employment. The intern must have strong communication skills (both written and oral); submission of a writing sample may be required at the time of application, at the discretion of the counselor supervisor(s). Interns need to work collaboratively with the counselor(s) and work independently with minimal supervision. Competitive applicants have experiences at Colby both socially and academically. Previous experience in admissions and financial aid (at Colby College or elsewhere) is preferred.
