Student Employment Assistants provide support to the Student Employment Coordinator. Assistants are required to understand the student employment office's mission as well as work to complement the efforts of the Financial Services Office. Job-related functions relating to, but not limiting, would be to introduce the basic concepts of how to focus a job search by creating a simple resume skill document to focusing on their job skill strengths and interests rather than their limited previous work experience. Our 2-Step discussion process prepares students to make contact with potential campus department supervisors in order to seek more job details as well as to introduce themselves and share their information. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills utilizing an outgoing personality. Assistants should be able to work well with a minimum of supervision and have a good understanding of how our mission and guidelines impact the student work experience.
