The Project Assistant reports to the Scholarly Resources Librarian - Sciences and will assist with a wide variety of special projects that may include but not be limited to research on a wide variety of topics, course preparation, subject guide preparation, exhibits, as well as evaluation of library services and websites. Expertise, or the ability and interest to gain needed expertise, in a variety of technologies and databases is required.
Knowledge of library research is desirable; preference will be given to students majoring or intending to major in a subject area covered by the librarian. Previous work experience in the Library may be helpful. Must be dependable, accurate and highly responsible, with the initiative to work independently on projects and meet deadlines. 6-7 hours per week; maximum of 12 hours. Must be willing to work consistent hours throughout the semester, up through the final week of classes.
