|Costume Shop Supervisor |
|Department:   Theater and Dance
Assists Costume Shop Manager and/or Costume Designer. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: supervising and training other workers; hand or machine sewing; dying fabric or costumes; tracing patterns and cutting out materials; gluing, painting and distressing when appropriate; organizing and maintaining costume wardrobe room; washing costumes; delivering costumes to dressing rooms and returning costumes to wardrobe; ironing and steaming garments; establishing and maintaining productive working relationship with faculty, staff, and students; working with touring companies using the theater.
Sewing skills, hand, and machine. Ability to work independently. Previously worked in the costume shop for at least one year. Comfortable supervising other costume shop workers. We expect you to be pleasant, punctual, attentive, dependable, open-minded, and show initiative, take pride in your work, be an active part of the team, seek to learn as much as possible, and strive for perfection in every facet of your job.
