|Department:   Theater and Dance
Assist the Technical Director in all necessary aspects of production for Theater & Dance department events and in maintaining Runnals Union theater facilities. Scenic construction (mostly carpentry), execution of light plots, maintenance of performance spaces and scene shop (including equipment), keeping inventories of equipment and materials, execution of non-show related shop projects, assisting students in Stagecraft classes and working with touring companies. Attendance at strikes is required.
Prior scene shop or relevant experience required. The previous ability or the desire to learn how to read/analyze drafting to construct and handle scenery and lighting. Ability to make regular time commitments (usually in the afternoon) as established by the Technical Director. Ability to work on ladders and in other high places. Ability to compensate for any health conditions in relation to physical demands on position (heavy lifting, sawdust/paint fumes, etc.). Committed to gaining proficiency with all standard scene shop tools, materials, and hardware.
