Co-President: Merrill Read ’19
Milwaukee, WI
I first started to be involved in SGA as a first year on the presidential council of the presidents that year. Sophomore year I decided to run for senator and won and then when the former class presidents stepped down, Molly and I ran and have been co-presidents ever since. I am most excited to work on community building events such as volunteering with our class as well as class socials and school spirit campaigns. Besides SGA, I am layout editor of the “Echo” newspaper, a member of ski club, an admissions intern (tour guide), sing in Mediocre A Capella, am a Colby Playground Pals mentor, a geology teaching assistant, the men and woman’s hockey official statistics keeper, and a SAAC representative. For those concerned, I also had a pet duck named Seymour that lived in my house for 19 years.

Hi! I’m a junior class president!
Senator: Olivia Silverman

Last year, I transferred in from Connecticut College in New London, CT. Aside from being in SGA, I am the founder of the Harry Potter club at Colby.  I am a member of the Women’s Varsity Squash team, and I am the Community Events head from the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Senator: Jackie Hang
Los Angeles, CA
Hi there! I’m a junior from Los Angeles, California and I’m a Computer Science major with a Chemistry minor. On campus I’m a CCAK mentor as well as an EcoRep. Through the EcoRep program, I also am a campus bike mechanic- so let me know if your bike needs some tuning up! My goals on SGA this year are to continue to build the bonds within the Colby community and make sure we all are accountable for our actions. I’m super excited for this year and I can’t wait to serve as Class of 2019 Senator!
Senator: Holly Lallis
Gladstone, NJ
Aside from SGA, I am a captain for the Colby softball team, a COOT Leader, and a member of the Special Olympics Committee. This is my second year being a class senator and I am really looking forward to this school year. I am excited to be a part of SGA for another year and to help strengthen the Colby community. A fun fact about me is that I am one of nine kids and have one niece and two nephews. I also LOVE anything pasta-related, and one can usually find me quoting Friends or hanging out in the Spa munching on a dilla.
Senator: Maddie Taylor
Wells, Maine

Hi, I’m Maddie Taylor and I’m from Wells, Maine. I’m so excited to be a senator for the class of 2019! I’m a psychology and government double major here at Colby. I’m also the co-head of the Colby chapter of Active Minds, a national non-profit dedicated to reducing stigma surrounding mental health. I’m also a member of the African drumming ensemble and Best Buddies. Some other fun facts about me: I love dogs (I have three golden retrievers at home), I’m a diehard Patriots and Red Sox fan, and I really enjoy distance running (although I’ve never run competitively, I ran 20 miles on my 20th birthday this past August, and I hope to one day run a full marathon)!
