Welcome! You have stumbled upon the humble web site of the Colby College Sirens, a recently founded all-female a cappella group. We are a small group of musically-inclined undergraduates who like to jam together. Sirens was conceived in the Spring of 1998 by Trish Akins '00, Karen Macke '00, Jess Stitt '00 and Caroline Rosch '01. The first four Sirens enlisted the musical stylings of Becca Leslie '99 and Stacy Reid Erickson '01, and became the fifth a cappella group at Colby College. The six founding Sirens had a vision - a gathering of women celebrating music from the heart.

We differ from other groups in our anarchic, er, democratic style of organization. Everyone's voice must be heard. Our arrangements generally feature everyone in the group, creating one voice, one sound. This sound is comprised of the unique personalities and voices of each siren. Peace. (done.)

We entertain throughout the year at both on- and off-campus venues. But as much as we love our audience, first and foremost we sing to celebrate the music within ourselves. In the meantime, hold your web surfing for a minute, sailor. Dock a while on the Sirens' Island!
