The NOAA Library was formed by the merger of the libraries of the Weather Bureau and the Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1967. The collections include 750,000 volumes and 9,000 current periodicals.

RARE BOOK COLLECTION:
The collection emphasizes historical meteorological texts dating from the 17th century, but also includes materials on charting and surveying.
