Student Government Association money comes from comprehensive fees that are paid by all students. Budgets are allocated by the Office of Administration and Finance to all areas of the college, including SGA, SPB, and the Pugh Community Board (PCB) through the annual budget process.

The Student Government Association and others receive an operating budget for each fiscal year, which runs from July 1 - June 30. (A fiscal year is the time period in which certain budget allocations are set.) Clubs and organizations must spend their allocation within the fiscal year that they are distributed.

All official college budgets are maintained by the Business Office in CARS, Colby's administrative accounting system. The Business Office records (not individual club or organization records) are considered official in terms of financial status. Please report discrepancies to the SGA Treasurer or the SPB Treasurer.
