Club Advisors
Finding a Meeting Place

Advisors

Each registered, approved student organization must have a faculty or staff advisor. Advisors must be on campus, therefore temporary replacements should be found for faculty/staff on sabbatical. Advisors should be willing to meet with and assist club leaders with events, goals, troubleshooting and other dynamics or issues affiliated with student leadership. Some clubs will require active advisors, while other clubs may meet or confer with advisors on a more occasional basis.

It is important to note that Colby clubs are student-run organizations. An advisor's role is to guide, support, and give advice, but the ownership and decision-making authority (with some legal and policy restrictions) rest with the club's student leaders.
