The Campaign for Colby
  Campaign Total: $150,598,315

In 1991, a comprehensive study of Colby concluded that in order to preserve the accomplishments of the past and continue our momentum into the next century, Colby would need to mount a major campaign with a priority to increase its endowment. A significant infusion of endowment would enable us to constrain tuition increases, attract and retain the very finest faculty, and keep Colby's doors open to the most qualified students regardless of their families' financial circumstances. Trustees, students, faculty, alumni, and administrators began a process that involved several hundred members of the Colby family and resulted in The Campaign for Colby, which sought $100 million to be raised by December 31, 1999.
During the next three years, trustees, parents, and friends made gifts unprecedented in Colby's fund-raising history, allowing the College to open the public phase of The Campaign in October, 1994, with $48.6 million raised.
We're pleased to report that the Campaign for Colby raised a total of $150,598,315, surpassing all of its original goals. These pages detail the many fine accomplishments of the Campaign.
