Elizabeth Hess starred Off-Broadway, regionally and internationally in her solo trilogy Living Openly & Notoriously. Part 1, Birth Rite, was performed in New York, Hartford, Barcelona, Kiel, Berlin, Toronto, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in Yerevan, Armenia. Part 3, At/One, was performed in New York.
Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include: M. Butterfly; Critical Darling; Notes; Our Place in Time; Liverpool Fantasy; Beggars in the House of Plenty; Nothing But Bukowski; A Modest Proposal; Jack; and The Frances Farmer Story. Regional credits include productions at Center Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, Wilma Theater, TheaterWorks, GeVa, Seattle Rep, Stage West, the McCarter, and the Denver Center, among others. TV credits include: Law & Order; Guiding Light; All My Children; Another World; and five seasons starring on Clarissa Explains It All. Film credits include: Soldier's Heart; A Bedtime Story; Italian Lessons and Buddy & Grace.
Ms. Hess has written several full-length plays including: Living Openly & Notoriously: A Solo Trilogy (Birth Rite; Descent; At/One); Divine Rapture; The Return and Sacred Fire. Ms. Hess is a graduate of The London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and has taught Undergraduate Acting at NYU and Fordham University.
