Safety Information Sheets | Theater & Dance

The Department of Theater & Dance is committed to safety. All too often individuals working in theater and dance ignore personal health and safety due to deadlines and other stresses of these art forms. Proper education, planning, and communication creates a healthier, safer environment while still leaving plenty of room for the spontaneous, collaborative process which is so unique to theater and dance.

Health and safety training sessions, taught by faculty and staff, are the core of the department's safety program. Safety Information Sheets accompany most training sessions and are specifically designed for our program here at Colby. Since fall 2002, these Safety Information Sheets have replaced the Theater Safety Guidelines manual used since 1994. Each Safety Information Sheet is a PDF file and can be viewed by clicking on the sheet title below. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
