Dave Peterson, faculty fellow in Theater and Dance, attended the American Society for Theatre Research conference in Baltimore Maryland on November 20th-23rd. The annual conference brings together theater scholars from around the world to share their work, debate ideas, and assess the state of the profession. Dave shared his research on actor Mark Rylance’s comedic work and direct relationships with the audience. In addition to sharing his work on Rylance, Dave heard papers on subjects as diverse as German political protest performance and Mexican puppet theater for young audiences.
