Web Management for Administrative, Academic, and Club Sites

Administrative and Academic Department Web Sites
All departments must designate a departmental Web site manager by sending that person's name to Cathy Langlais. The departmental Web site manager will be the contact person when the Web management team needs to communicate regarding Web policies and procedures, maintenance (e.g. broken links), updating of sites, or other issues or initiatives. The departmental Web site manager also will be responsible for doing or supervising regular maintenance of his or her department's site as well as redesigns or other improvements, whether initiated by the department or by the Web management team.

Minimum requirements for academic department sites include:
- Links to course descriptions and program requirements that are updated daily in the online course catalogue,
- List of faculty in department, including contact information,
- General department information.

Club and Organization Sites
All clubs and organizations with a Web page or site must designate a club Web site manager by notifying the director of student activities and the Web manager. Club and organization Web site managers will be contacted when the Web management team needs to disseminate information regarding polices and procedures, maintenance (e.g. broken links), updating of sites, or other issues or initiatives. Information about permissions, Web maintenance, and online scheduling policies, etc. will be communicated to club officials during orientation for club leaders in the fall. Sites will be reviewed annually, and club or organization sites that are not maintained or that lack a designated manager may, at the discretion of the Web Management Group (WMG) and after a warning, be replaced with current contact information for the organization.

Club and organization sites must have, as a minimum, a general description of the organization and current contact information.
