Colby's seal is the copyrighted logo of the College. The seal is the only mark representing the College that may appear on the web. How the seal appears on the Web is very important. It helps users to remember the mark and to identify the seal with the college, with your page, and with other Colby pages. However, use of the seal is not required, only the "Colby" header is required. Logos--any graphic other than the seal--are not permitted.

Incorrect Logo Usage

Do not stretch, distort, or alter the logo type or seal; do not cover the seal with type or other images; do not remove or add items from the lgotype or seal.

Do not use the logotype without the ligature.

Do not stack the logotype and seal.

Do not change the placement of the seal in relationship to the logotype.

Do not put the logotype or seal in different colors. Appropriate colors are blue, white, light grey, or black.

Do not use the seal on personal web pages.

If the seal is used, be sure to have the correct version from the web.

Do not animate the seal, use it as a repeating background, or use elements from the seal without also having the seal appear in its entirety.
