2/8/17: Media Institute for Social Change, Portland Oregon

2017 Summer Documentary Program:

Each summer, the Media Institute for Social Change hosts a group of college undergraduates to study public interest journalism in Portland. It is a documentary based program, by which students make their own audio and video projects that feature nonprofit leaders working on local solutions to global issues (visit our website at mediamakingchange.org). As a Media Institute alumna and Macalester College graduate, I see immeasurable value for student activists who may also be aspiring filmmakers, radio producers, and storytellers to take part in the Media Institute for Social Change. It is an opportunity to produce and exhibit original work, meet and network with industry professionals, and engage their academic curriculum in praxis with current sociopolitical issues in our community.
