What to do if you want my help outside class and office hours: organizing a study group
1) I grew up with Serge Lang's Algebra book. It is very clearly written, but quite abstract and very dense. Lang's book is great to quickly look up concepts.
2) Another popular textbook is Michael Artin's Algebra book.
3) Many people like the book called "Abstract Algebra" by Dummit and Foote, because it has a great selection of examples and applications.
All of these books will (soon) be on reserve in the library.
4) Wikipedia also has a lot of entries about algebra.
