Architecture and Design
The Colby College curriculum supports students interested in pursuing studies in architecture, the built environment, and design. The Art Department has created a Colby Architecture & Design Guide to help students identify curricular options at Colby and take advantage of opportunities available to them both on and off campus. Students should use the guide to enrich their major of choice. All students should discuss their curricular and professional interests with their major advisor(s) and/or with Associate Professor of Art Marta Ameri. ([email protected])
The Colby Architecture & Design Guide includes:
- An overview of courses currently available at Colby, organized into the following focus areas: 2D/3D arts and design, digital media, history of architecture, environmental arts, environmental design, and cultural geography. Departments and programs offering relevant courses include Art, American Studies, Computer Science, English, Environmental Studies, Math, Physics and Astronomy, and Theater and Dance.
- Off-campus opportunities available to students, including study abroad and summer study programs.
- Preliminary information for students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in architecture.
- Contact information for faculty and staff resources on campus.
