Noah Charney ’02 to give talk on “The Provenance Trap: Understanding the Modus Operandi of Art Forgers.”
Charney is the founder and president of the Association for Research into Crimes against Art (ARCA). His articles have appeared in the Guardian, the Washington Post, Salon, The Art Newspaper, the Observer, and Tendencias del Mercado del Arte. He is the Pulitzer-nominated author of 12 books, including The Art of Forgery: The Minds, Motives, and Methods of Master Forgers (Phaidon, 2015). The talk is sponsored by the Department of Art, the Center for the Arts and Humanities, and the Colby College Museum of Art.
