Sheehan’s new Global Lab travels to Smithsonian

One of Colby’s first Global Labs funded by DavisConnects, AR/AM458 contributes to the pressing question: What does it mean to study American art in a global context? In March 2018, Professor Tanya Sheehan and her seven students interacted with doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and curators at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. You can read more about the trip in the Colby Echo, which ran a story on March 22, 2018 by student participant Nina Oleynik.

Next month the course will travel to Boston to meet with curators at the Museum of Fine Arts, and then apply what they learned off campus to the collections of the Colby College Museum of Art.
