President’s Prize
The President’s Prize is awarded to one artist in the Senior Art Exhibition selected by a jury of specialists in the field. The recognition honors the exemplary efforts within the studio practice and is given to a student who shows promise and potential as an artist. The recipient of this prize will be announced at the opening of the senior exhibition.

Art History Senior Research Prize
The Art Department faculty established this prize in 2015. It is presented annually to a graduating Art History major who produces an outstanding capstone essay. The winning essay is commended for the strength of its research questions and argumentation, its critical and creative thinking, and the implications of its findings in and beyond the discipline of art history.

Charles Hovey Pepper Prize
An endowment established in 1963 by Stephen C. Pepper in the name of his father,
artist Charles Hovey Pepper, provides the Art Department with funds for a prize
awarded for meritorious creative work. A jury of specialists in the field selects
the recipient from among the students represented in the Senior Art Exhibition. The
winner of the prize will be announced at the opening of the senior exhibition.
