Resources for Classics Majors
Majors in Classics and Classical Civilization enjoy the use of the Classics Seminar Room, a comfortable place to study or relax between classes, where beautiful reproductions of Classical vases and sculptures grace the walls and shelves.
The Seminar Room contains a computer equipped with Pandora, a search engine complete with all of Greek and Latin literature on CD. The Seminar Room also holds an impressible library of reference works, art books, historical volumes and Greek and Latin texts.
This library was made possible by the generosity of Peter A. Vlachos ’58. Other friends of the Classics Department have made gifts of books that enhance this collection. We encourage all our majors to look on the Seminar Room as their own special space where they can feed off each other’s ideas and enthusiasm.
The Colby Museum has a highly interesting collection of Greek and Roman antiquities.
