Minor in Educational Studies
This minor encourages a wide-ranging liberal arts exploration of educational issues, theories, and practices. Students focus primarily on the psychological, social, philosophical, and historical foundations of education and gain practical experience working with children and/or adolescents in a variety of classroom contexts.
Requirements for the Minor in Education
Seven courses are required:
- ED101 (previously ED201)
- ED213, 215 or 217
- A senior capstone (e.g., ED493A or ED493B)
- A practicum (ED351 or ED333), Educating All Learners in Inclusive Classrooms (ED374), or an internship
- Students may take more than one of these options, but after this requirement is fulfilled, only one (ED351, ED333, or ED374) will count as an elective
- Three electives in education
