Freiburg
Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) (European Union Program for a full year or either semester). This program (not integrated into the German university) combines German language courses with courses in English on the politics and economics of the European Union. Prerequisite: At least junior standing when program begins; background in micro- and macroeconomics, modern history and contemporary government helpful.
Berlin
Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) (one semester or full-year German program). Language instruction, IES courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, (including the city of Berlin), and in Business/Economics, as well as courses at Berlin’s Humboldt University. All courses taught in German. Housing with native Germans.
München
Lewis & Clark in Munich (Full year only, September-July). Orientation and language program followed by self-contained courses and enrollment in regular courses at the University of Munich. Housing with German students in dormitories in the Olympic Village in Munich. Prerequisite: Two years of college-level German. Grade point average of 3.0. Junior standing.
Tübingen
Tufts-in-Tübingen (Spring semester or full year from September-July). Four courses per semester, all taught by faculty of the University of Tübingen. Housing in university dormitories. Prerequisite: Junior standing, two years of college-level German, minimum 3.0 GPA. More about Tübingen.
Salzburg
Bowling Green in Salzburg (Fall, Full Year, Spring, Y2-Fall, Y2-Spring). Smaller program (15-20) in conjunction with graduate program. Possibility to complete internships with businesses, schools, or social institutions. Prerequisite: Junior standing, 3 semesters of German (or equiv). Available programs: Intensive Language Intensive, Study Center-Based Program, University-Based Program. Housing: Residence hall. Areas of Study: Art History, German, Government / Political Science but direct enrolled provides broader course selection.
