Faculty Book Workshop Grants
This grant supports a book workshop for Colby faculty members with appointments in the division, at any stage of their careers. The grant provide an honorarium of $500 each for three experts in the faculty member’s field (outside Colby) to offer constructive feedback on a manuscript that is nearing completion. Experts can either read the entire manuscript in draft or significant sections thereof. All workshops will be held on Zoom and organized by the faculty member, but they will work with the Division Chair to outline best practices for a successful workshop in advance of the event. These events typically run around 3 hours on a single day.
In 2023-24, applications were due by the end of January and decisions made by early February. All workshops must be completed by June 15. Priority is given to faculty applicants who are preparing to submit applications for tenure and/or promotion at the college and to faculty who do not already have funds from the college to support such an opportunity.
