Join us in celebrating the Class of 2025
We are excited that you will join our Colby community this fall! This site contains critical information that will help you prepare for and navigate your first year at Colby. Please read through the information carefully and be sure to take advantage of the many interactive Zoom sessions we will offer in June regarding fall course selection. More information about these sessions, critical dates, and other kinds of support can be found on the First-Year Advising Timeline below.
If you are planning on taking any language coursework throughout your studies at Colby and already have some background in that language, you will need to take a placement test. Additionally, if you want to take any classes that involve Calculus, you’ll need to submit a Calculus Questionnaire.
During this week, students will attend small group zoom sessions with faculty advisors to learn about Colby’s Liberal Arts Curriculum and to receive general advise on how to approach fall registration. There will also be a series of specialized sessions geared toward students interested in particular professions.
During this week, students will have the option of meeting with one of our summer faculty advisors to discuss address specific questions and to receive more individualized advice.

We have a group of students who are working on campus this summer ready to answer any questions you may have. These students will be receiving any queries sent to our [email protected] email address and monitoring our Discord server. They can help with all kinds of questions you may have and can also refer you to other people or offices if necessary.
First-year students will have an opportunity to speak to a summer faculty advisor during August add/drop.
Your will meet your liberal arts advisor during orientation and they will be available to support you through your first year journey and until you declare a major.
