German Studies Seniors Top Last Year's Fulbright Success

After landing three Fulbrights last year, our German Studies majors upped it by one this year (plus a Fulbright in our Russian Program)!

Four of our German Studies seniors recently found out that they are Fulbright award winners for 2012-13. Susannah Hufstader and Rebecca Chenard will be headed to Germany, while Elizabeth Schneider (Vienna) and Mallory Livingston (near Salzburg) will be spending the next year in Austria. (NB: Both Hufstader and Chenard also each were awarded a Fulbright to Austria - really making it six Fulbrights!) Each of them received full grants as English Teaching Assistants. This puts the German Program at Colby near the top of the list of the most successful U.S. programs.

A fifth Fulbright in our department goes to James Lasher (Russian Language and Culture senior), who will be headed to Russia.

Wir gratulieren allen ganz herzlich!!
