Moodle provides the assignment activity which offers several ways to track and collect student work.
Kaltura Media Assignment
Allows students to submit videos as an assignment submission. Here’s a short video tutorial to get you started.
Google Assignment

Activities for Communication and Collaboration
Chat
Chat allows course members to hold real-time, text-based conversations with course members. Multiple chat rooms can be set up for the same course. Chat rooms may also be used for office hours. Read more about chat or watch a video.
Database
Database activity allows the teacher and/or students to build, display, and search a bank of records. The instructor designs the format and structure of these entries which can include images, files, URLs, numbers, text, etc. Learn more about the Moodle Database activity.
Forum
Instructors and students can communicate and collaborate using Forums. Instructors can create topics or, depending on the Forum type, allow students to originate topics, to which course members can “post” a reply. Visit this blog post for more resources.
Glossary
The Glossary activity allows users to create a list of definitions, much like a dictionary. Participants can search or browse the Glossary. Learn more about the Glossary Moodle activity.
Student Folder

Zoom 1-Click Meeting
Set up and link to Zoom from within Moodle. Here’s a short video tutorial to get you started.
Zoom Meetings with Recordings
Schedule meetings and make recordings available to the class. Here’s a short video tutorial to get you started.
Assessments and Surveys
Quiz
Moodle quizzes are comprised of a Quiz activity that contains one or more questions from your course’s Question bank. The Quiz activity lets you administer a wide range of question-types within a specific layout and order, provide different kinds of feedback based on how a student performed on the quiz, and control how students access the quiz. Choice
Choice activity allows you to post a question and specify multiple responses as possible answers. Each of your students can then pick one of the given choices. See Moodle documentation for more information or watch a video.
Feedback
Feedback activity allows you to create and conduct surveys to collect feedback. See Moodle documentation for more information or watch a video.
Kaltura Video Quiz
Integrates with Colby’s new video content management system. Here’s a short video tutorial to get you started.
Manage Students
Attendance
The Attendance module lets you record attendance or participation in other offline activities (i.e. class participation.) The attendance is aggregated in a single column in the Moodle gradebook. Learn more about the Moodle Attendance activity.
Deliver Interactive Content
Lesson
Lesson displays a series of HTML pages to the student who is usually asked to make some sort of choice underneath the content area. The choice will send them to a specific page in the Lesson. Learn more about the Moodle Lesson activity.
