Learn how to:
Create a New Note
- In the Library, tap to create a new note.
- A new note will open. Select one of the note-taking tools by tapping it.
- Use to scroll freely around your note.
- The note will automatically save when returning to the Library .

Organize Notes
- To create a subject, tap .
- Enter the new subject name and tap Done on the keyboard.
- To move a note to a new subject, tap and hold on the note thumbnail, then drag it to the new subject.

Share Notes
To share a note from the note view:
- Tap to share a note.
- Select the desired destination.
- Choose the file format.
- Tap Send.
To share a note from the Library:
- Tap to share a note.
- Pick the note or notes by tapping them.
- Select the desired destination.
- Choose the file format.
- Tap Send.

Layout
The Library is arranged to display notes on the right side of the screen with subjects and dividers on the left side of the screen. Tools for editing EDIT, sharing , importing , and composing notes are located at the top of the screen. The bottom toolbar has settings , help , and information .
Settings
There are several aspects of the app that can be adjusted or set as default in settings. Tap , in the lower library toolbar to open settings. Here are features that can be found in Settings:
- Auto-backup – Automatically backup your notes to a cloud service.
- Manage Accounts – Log in or out of cloud services.
- iCloud – Keep your notes up to date across devices.
- Themes – Change the look and feel of Notability.
- Document
- Default note title – Choose a title and include date & time.
- Paper style – Choose a default paper type.
- Typing
- Default font style.
- Spellcheck
- Tap anywhere to start typing.
- Handwriting
- Tap and hold to start zoom writing.
- Left handed mode. This allows the palm rest to be dragged down from the top of the screen.
- Automatic palm detection can be turned off.
- Ignore iOS sleep timer.
