Patti Newmen's Bio

Patti Newmen is the Director of Counseling Sevices at Colby College. She has been at Colby since 1987, helping students with a wide variety of issues including adjustment to college, homesickness, depression, anxiety, eating/body image concerns, relationships, bereavement, stress, and many others. Patti is also the co-advisor to SHOC (Student Health On Campus), a student organization that provides awareness and educational programs for the campus on many topics related to health and well being.

Patti has a B.A. from Goucher College, a M.A.T. from the University of Chicago, and a M.A. from Antioch/New England Graduate School.  She is a Licensed Clinical Counselor and has trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities.  Prior to becoming a psychological counselor, Patti worked as a career counselor and as a teacher.

Patti's interests include travelling, hiking, kayaking, reading and photography.
