Virtual Private Network (VPN)

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) service provides secure access to Colby's IT file servers, print servers, software licensing and various web-based services when at home or traveling.  ITS strongly recommends you use the VPN connection when connecting to Colby resources over any unsecured (open or public) wireless network.

Colby account holders log in to the VPN portal at vpn.colby.edu.  Web-based resources and file servers can be accessed directly through the portal.  You need 'Junos Pulse' remote client to access software licensing services, print servers, and other department-specific applications.    Once connected, you have access as if you were on campus. Pulse is also available as an app for mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads and Android, and can be found in the app stores for the respective device (search for 'Junos Pulse').  Once the app is installed, direct it to connect to 'vpn.colby.edu' and enter your account credentials.

All VPN users are required to adhere to the VPN policy as well as all other relevant ITS policies.
